When Disaster Strikes...
Disasters do not always make the headlines. But to the family it affects, it is a devastating and tragic experience. The mission of the Red Cross is to provide families struck by disaster basic necessities and to guide them back on the road to recovery.

Immediate Help!
Immediately following a disaster, Red Cross volunteers are on the scene to administer to medical needs, provide food, clothing, shelter and offer care, comfort and concern. Regardless of the time of day or weather, our dedicated disaster volunteers are there.

And Longer-Term.
Our caseworkers work with affected families to care for their longer-term needs. Depending on the losses the family has suffered, we may help with replacement of basic household goods such as beds, linens, cookware and first month's rent at a new home.
